Deacon's clutch single in 6th puts Brooklyn up for good

Deacon McGuire (pictured) capped a 3-run 6th inning rally for Brooklyn, by roping a single to right that plated the go ahead run. The Superbas had just given up the lead in the home 5th on a 2-run single by Jimmy Slagle. After Deacon's hit put the Superbas on top, Joe Kelley doubled home some insurance in the 8th and the Brooklyn club went on to win by a count of 10-6. Brooklyn continues to sit atop the National League with a 22-8 record, while the Phillies fall to 19-12, 3.5 games off the pace.
