Sam Leever was able to finish what he started and was credited with a complete
game at West Side Park as the Pittsburg Pirates beat the ice-cold Chicago
Orphans by the count of 8 to 1.
Pittsburg took the lead for good in the 2nd inning scoring a single run.
Pittsburg managed 11 in their victory.
The victory went to Leever(5-4) who went the distance allowing 1 run. Rube
Waddell(4-6) absorbed the loss. He allowed 11 hits and 2 walks in 9 innings.
ST. LOUIS AT CINCINNATI

Patsy Donovan had 2 base hits and 2 RBI and Jack Harper pitched a complete
game as the St. Louis Cardinals defeated the Cincinnati Reds by a score of 5
to 2 at League Park.
Cincinnati was unable to claim the lead after St. Louis went ahead in the top
of the 5th inning plating an isolated run utilizing 3 base hits. After an
out was recorded, Jesse Burkett slapped a one-base hit. Emmett Heidrick came
next and he lined a base-hit. Dan McGann then banged out a single scoring
the run. St. Louis had a total of 12 hits for the game.
Harper(6-2) allowed 2 runs on the game. Noodles Hahn(5-5) was given the loss.
He was hit hard and gave up 12 hits and 3 walks in 9 innings.
