Emil Frisk allowed George Stallings to rest his bullpen, tossing a complete

game and third baseman Sport McAllister blasted a grand slam as the Detroit

Tigers defeated the PHILADELPHIA ATHLETICS by a score of 15 to 6 at Bennett

Park.

McAllister helped send the fans home happy. He delivered a single in the 4th

inning, hit a 'grand salami' to the delight of his teammates (his 1st of the

season) in the 5th inning and stroked a one-base hit resulting in a run in

the 8th inning. Detroit bats were very productive in the 1st inning when

they had 4 runs on 3 hits, the 5th inning when they had 5 runs on 3 hits and

the 6th inning which saw them plate 4 runs on 4 hits. Detroit had 16 hits

for the afternoon.

The win was credited to Frisk(5-2) who went the whole way allowing 6 runs.

Bill Bernhard(3-3) was tagged with the loss. He allowed 12 hits and 2 walks

in 5 and 1/3 innings.
