An offensive showcase over the first four innings. Neither starter would manage to get out of the fourth and the game would be turned over to the bullpen. Both relief pitchers did quite well and kept each side in check. Tom Daly got a sac fly in the 9th to push across the lead run for Brooklyn. Phillies had the bottom of their order up, and could do nothing with Kennedy and the Superbas move to 3-0 on the season. |

It was an exciting day game in Baker Bowl where the Brooklyn Superbas finally
out-lasted the Philadelphia Phillies by a score of 12 to 11 in a affair.
The game was decided in the 9th inning. Jimmy Sheckard laced a one-base hit.
Joe Kelley got his turn next, but he was a strikeout victim. Tom McCreery
then drew a walk. Sheckard proceeded to steal third base. Tom Daly came to
the plate and hit a deep fly scoring the run. Brooklyn bats were very
productive in the 2nd inning which saw them plate 4 runs on 4 hits and the
4th inning which saw them plate 4 runs on 6 hits. Philadelphia proved to be
no trouble in the bottom of the 9th.
The win went to Brickyard Kennedy(2-0) who allowed no runs in 6 innings. Bill
Duggleby(0-1) ended up with the loss in relief. He allowed 9 hits and 1 walk
in 6 innings.
