A wild game for the opener. Back and forth affair that finally after Dahlen singled in Tom Daly and Kennedy hung on.

Jimmy Sheckard jacked one out of the ballyard and scored 3 times at Baker Bowl
where the Brooklyn Superbas beat the Philadelphia Phillies in 14 innings 9 to
8.

The game was deadlocked at 7 after nine full innings. Finally, Brooklyn
pulled the game out in the 14th inning. After two were out Tom Daly doubled.
Bill Dahlen followed and he singled scoring the run. The game was a wild
affair with the lead changing hands 7 times.

The win was credited to Brickyard Kennedy(1-0) who went 5 innings allowing 1
run. Red Donahue(0-1) was the loser in relief. He pitched 3 innings giving
up 3 hits and no walks.
