McCreery saves day with defensive gem in 9th

Tom McCreery (pictured) vindicated himself for an earlier defensive miscue by making a potential game saving catch in the 9th inning at Washington Park. With 2 outs in the Reds 9th, they managed to have two players reach base for their top hitter, Sam Crawford. Crawford laced the offering from Wild Bill Donovan into the alley and it seemed to be a sure game tying hit. McCreery got a wonderful jump on the ball and managed to make a sprawling catch to end the game. McCreery was met with rousing cheers from the home fans, and received a grateful bear hug from pitcher Donovan whose record now sits at 5-0.
