Blues hope O'Brien provides an outfield answer
The Cleveland Blues signed Jack O'Brien, late of the Washington ballclub, to a contract today. O'Brien hit .286 with 11 runs batted in while with the Senators, and the Blues are hoping he will assist their production in the outfield. O'Brien, a 28-year old native of Watervliet, New York will also provide a much needed left handed bat. He's expected to replace Frank Genins, as Genins has struggled along hitting a mere .208 this season.
