Tommy Leach had 4 hits and 3 RBI and Jesse Tannehill went the distance as the
Pittsburg Pirates clobbered the outmatched St. Louis Cardinals, 13 to
2.
Leach had a big day at the plate. He tripled scoring two baserunners in the
1st inning, stroked a base-hit in the 3rd inning, tripled plating a run in
the 5th inning and lined a single in the 7th inning. Pittsburg had a total
of 19 hits for the game.
Tannehill(1-0) was the winner allowing 2 runs for the game. The loss was
charged to Jack Powell(0-2). He was pinned with the loss despite not
allowing an earned run in his 2 and 2/3 innings of work.
