Dahlen's first inning triple sends Superbas to another win
Bill Dahlen (pictured) cleared the loaded bases with a triple Brooklyn's 6-run first inning. Brooklyn would put up another 6 spot in the 3rd and send Giants starter Luther Taylor to an early shower. Wild Bill Donovan would be the recipient of the wonderful run support, but struggled late. He was obviously fatigued, but with no one available in the Brooklyn pen that also wasn't fatigued, he was forced to finish the game. He logged 210 pitches in running his record to 4-0 in the Superbas 13-10 win.

Wild Bill Donovan went the distance as the BROOKLYN SUPERBAS topped the New
York Giants by a score of 13 to 10 at Polo Grounds.
BROOKLYN wasted no time and took the lead in the first inning scoring 6
runners on 6 hits. The big moment was provided by Bill Dahlen who quieted
the home crowd when he tripled emptying the bases. New York made it exciting
in the 9th, but they were unable to push the needed runs across.
The win went to Donovan(4-0) who allowed 10 runs in the game. Luther
Taylor(0-5) suffered the loss. He was unable to control the BROOKLYN offense
and allowed 7 hits and 3 walks in 2 innings.
