Phillies release veteran infielder Dolan
Joe Dolan, off to a mediocre start (.238, 0 hr, 2 rbi) in this 1901 season, was released from his contract with the Philadelphia National League club. Bill Hallman is expected to get some of Dolan's playing time, although Bert Conn actually started the last game for the Phillies.
