Athletics drop another one by starting 23-year old rookie Pete Loos. This would unfortunately be Loos's first and last appearnce in professional ball.

Ted Lewis pitched a complete game and Hobe Ferris had 2 base hits and 3 RBI as
the Boston Americans topped the PHILADELPHIA ATHLETICS by a score of 7 to 3
at Columbia Park.

Boston wasted no time and took the lead in the first inning scoring one runner
on 2 hits. Boston totaled 12 on the afternoon.

The victory was credited to Lewis(1-0) who went the distance, allowing 3 runs.
Pete Loos(0-1) was tagged with the loss. He gave up 5 runs in 3 innings of
work.
