Lajoie's bat helps Athletics snap skid
Nap Lajoie (pictured) broke out of a mini-slump with a 4 for 4 day with two triples. Seybold chipped in with 4 ribbies himself and Chick Fraser was the happy recipient of the offensive explosion.

Chick Fraser pitched a complete game and second baseman Nap Lajoie had 4 hits

and 5 RBI at Columbia Park where the PHILADELPHIA ATHLETICS beat the

Baltimore Orioles 13 to 8.



Lajoie provided much of the offense. He slapped a single resulting in a run

in the 1st inning, tripled bringing in a run in the 3rd inning, tripled

emptying the bases in the 6th inning and delivered a one-base hit in the 8th

inning. PHILADELPHIA finished with 14 hits in the victory.



The winning pitcher was Fraser(1-2) who allowed 8 runs for the game. Harry

Howell(2-1) was the losing pitcher. He allowed 12 hits and 4 walks in 7 and

1/3 innings.



'I was really seeing the ball today,' Lajoie said 'I wish it was always this

easy.'
